Chapter 8: Investor Relations
Investor relations affected my summer job extremely, it caused people to quit and/or get fired. Investor's started losing interest with all of the money and downfall of the recession the past year. The enviroment that the business was in wasn't affected a lot but it was enough to have a "ripple" affect on some of the businesses. My job basically recieved it's money from investors and state grants. With the economy in a downfall grants weren't being distributed and investors were pulling their money out of the company. Four supervisors quit and the business was just in a "slump." The business just started getting back on track this past year after the economic recession. The company found new investors and is really doing great.

After economic recession, I believe many investors lose confidence to their investment. As the result, I strongly agree with that the company should find new investors and build trust between investors and companies. However, there are too many factors affect investors' decision. Like the financial reports, news, future trends, and investors' financial situation. As the result, building good relationship with investors is very complicated and hard to achieve.
ReplyDeleteYour experience sounds like a bad investor relations. however, because the economis crises last two years, levestors feel terrible to investors at that time. I thought that might be the factors you told but not related to the relations..
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the economic recession had a very negative effect on the company that you were working at Terry.Most companies have been affected by this and because investors were not willing to put money in companies..However, some companies have been able to go through the whole recession without a hitch because of good relations with their investors
ReplyDeleteIt is very true that in economic recessions investors tend to loose interest and no longer choose to invest in companies that they had supported in the past. However, if a company has excellent investor relations and spends time interacting with the investors, there is a greater chance that they will stay loyal to the company even during hard times. It is true though that even companies with good investor relations still lose investors during recessions
